I wrote a while back about how I used Claude to get better at poker (see that post here).

People asked for my Claude project, so they too could stop losing money.

So here it is!

Anyway, back to the project.

How the Claude project works

When you set it up, you’ll do two things:

  1. Upload this markdown file into the project’s instructions.

  2. Upload this artifact alongside it.

Your finished product should look like this:

That’s all you need to get started. From there, you can chat with Claude, and it’ll walk you through running some simulations.

Why this works

Poker, like anything, is a skill. Skills are built through mastery. The goal of this program is to walk you through the fundamental components of poker, making sure you have complete command of each principle before moving on to the next.

By understanding each piece individually, you’ll end up a significantly better player than if you’d just gone in and practiced haphazardly.

What You’ll Learn

You don’t really need to read this section. Just open up the Claude project and start ripping it!

But if you’re curious, this is what makes up the program

  • Hand values & Preflop betting: What hands are good, why, and when you should avoid playing trash (King Seven is trash)

  • Counting your outs: Flex on people by telling them the percentage chance you’ll hit a card.

  • Reading the board: Figure out whose hand a flop actually helps before you bet, check, or fold into it.

  • Bet sizing: When to check, fold, bet, or SHOVE THOSE CHIPS IN THE MIDDLE

  • Bluffing: Take people’s money, even when you have worse cards.

  • Facing aggression: Tell the difference between a scary bet and an opponent’s mistake

  • Staying sharp: Stop losing all your winnings in one hand (I still do this sometimes)
